The American Association of Orthodontists, and numerous other organizations pediatric recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age seven or earlier if there are visible indications of orthodontic problems. Orthodontist Alpharetta , Dr. Matt Walton says there are three basic reasons for the implementation of orthodontic treatment in children:

1. To improve dental or irregularities affecting the teeth facial appearance
   
2. To correct or improve the function of teeth
