MarketplaceAlternative Cancer Center What are the alternatives to cancer treatment centers of America? The brother of my colleague has cancer, and cancer treatment centers in America is not accepted by his insurance. What other options are available? Anywhere would be an alternative. This is a private nonprofit organization that has been in trouble with the FTC for false claims and baseless. I am not aware of any other hospital that has had this problem.
I work for various hospitals in the County of Los Angeles and we have several well known hospital here where people come from around the world to treat and there are many lesser-known community hospitals that provide care that is equally good and some cases better than those well-known hospitals.
The best advice I can give to your brother co-workers is to be an informed consumer. He and a trusted friend or family member should learn more about the disease as possible so he can ask the right questions and make informed decisions. Get opinions of oncologists two or three who do not. Someone must go with him to every meeting where the results of tests or treatment options are discussed. Keep a running list of all the issues he thinks the list and take with him to his medical appointments.
Unless he has a rare cancer, it should get very good treatment in a hospital's insurance is with. He may also want to check with the American College of Surgeons for hospitals in its region with approved cancer programs. They are responsible for accrediting programs of the Cancer Hospital in the United States. Firstly, there is no treatment against cancer secret are available only CTCA So when looking for a cancer treatment facility you want the best hospital for a particular cancer, which happens to be located near your home. Travel long distances several times when you do not feel much older (and very expensive for their pocket money) real fast, so you must figure into the equation for the degree of difficulty you have made several visits to any facility you end up choosing.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America are private for-profit organization that makes sure you have the money to pay for their services. Although they have modern facilities, they are not able to offer all the advanced treatments available compared to some other hospitals available for the treatment of cancer, such as MD Anderson in Houston. CTCA great advantage is their willingness to spend tons of money on advertising and not because the available treatments, there are different treatments available that in many other facilities for high cancer rates.
The NCI has selected about 35 cancer treatment centers they call centers fight against cancer, which means they are capable of handling complex cases of almost all cancer types. This also means that clinical trials are widely available - something that does not CTCA. Here is the link to find the center closest to the NCI designated comprehensive cancer nearest you.

BTW-Do not self appointed "centers struggle against cancer" mixed with NCI designated facilities. Even if they can still be very good hospitals, for some reason, the NCI has not yet designated as an institution NCI.
If I was looking for a hospital in North Carolina, I would probably pick Duke Medical Center - an institution that performed the brain surgery Kennedy. As MD Anderson in Houston, people travel from around the world to be seen at Duke Medical Center because of the many types of cancer experts who work there, clinical trials available, over the high level of patient care.
