In my clinical choices are Alfa-bio, bredent, Nobel Biocare
Are there different implants? What are the best implant?
Really detailed and useful responses there. I would just add one more point. Go with the implants that your dentist is more comfortable and better results. He may have only minor differences every dentist is comfortable and has the highest success rate with certain brand of implant. Throughout the brand, he recommends will ensure you get the best outcomes.
Most implants are quite similar and give the best results from careful planning of where and how physicians are familiar with the implants. Even if the implant 'A' can not be regarded as the best by all physicians, if your surgeon has had a good success rate with them and is most familiar with the placement of this implant system will be more likely work well enough (again depending on your specific situation). In addition, each company makes at least three, if not more, styles of implants. It is for your doctor to choose the style of the implant in your case. And some say are better choices than others (and some doctors are accustomed to a style rather than another). Now, one day, if the surgeon follows the protocols, the dental implant has become a therapeutic option very predictable, reliable. I do not think we can say that 20 years ago or even 10 years ago (in some cases) with confidence.
But make no mistake, there are different and unique implant systems on the market. For example, Biocon is a company that makes an implant style quite unique that seems to have a good success. And there are implants that fail due to poor design or manufacturing, but in general, you don 't know until after the fact. I think in general, if a surgeon discovered that the implant system they use was causing problems they would stop using it immediately.
But to answer your question, in my opinion, the best implants are Straumann, Zimmer and Nobel Biocare. All are reputable companies that are well known and recognized. Well, if you moved around the country and has had a problem with your implant. I doubt you would have a problem finding a dentist or periodontist or oral surgeon who is not familiar with one of those systems.
They stand by their products, have representatives readily available and well distributed nationally. I'm not the least of the road, arguing that Alfa-bio Bredent or are defective or do not support their products. I am not saying that you will not have problems with Nobel Biocare, just that they are good companies that have historically been around for a while in the U.S. market.
Hope this helps,
Best wishes.
I've been around art all my dental life. And my father is a dentist. There are many different types of dental implants, each designed to meet the specific needs of patients, but only after a thorough evaluation your dentist will recommend the best treatment option for you.
Titanium implant Root-Form
Of all the types of dental implants, titanium implant in the form of tooth roots is the most common. This option is also known as an implant or intra-osseous endosseous, a name which comes from the fact that dental implants are placed directly into the bone. Root-form implants are made of solid titanium metal and reliable corrosion resistant, making these implants very similar in appearance to screws, nails, or cones.
Subperiosteal implant
The subperiosteal implant is commonly used in patients who do not have sufficient bone in the jaw to support an implant, root form. subperiosteal dental implants are placed on the jaw, rather than inside.
