What are the problems of using mice to test drugs against cancer? CSN u give me some problems and ethical issues
Thank you 4 ur help
When you think of the mouse small individual ... yes it is sad, but I think the benefit outweighs the cruelness. My mother died three months ago from cancer and I would kill a million mice to have her back ...
I guess inhumane
I bet the mouse does not want cancer, and it would upset animal rights protesters.
On the positive side we get to test cancer treatments in rodents before humans.
Thing is rodents are different from us, rats for example, are free from alcohol, they just do drunk lol imagine what else is different?
We already have drugs that can potentially cure the most common forms of cancer, but it is not used because the drug companies think that is used to make them much more money ¬ _ ¬
Instead we use chemotherapy that is a terrible process, and patients arent even allowed to use cannabis to alleviate nausea and increase appetite. What a world we live in lame where mice can cure cancer, but we are not allowed.
Samantha said, if any, so no question of ethics at all
Thalidomide was tested on rats and found to be perfectly safe.
If penicillin was tested on rats, we would not have used now as it has had a negative effect on them.
