How vacation "free" in Thailand Of course, everyone wants something free. But how?
Well, if you need dental care expensive why not make it to Chiang Mai, Thailand? The doctors speak good English here. Have received part of their training in North America, facilities are world class and their prices are much lower than what you expect to pay in most regions of the world.
Incidentally, my name is George and I am a Canadian who took early retirement in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Why Chiang Mai? Well it's the city's most popular retirement in South Asia and is a popular tourist destination visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. The climate is cooler than Bangkok, there is less traffic here than Bangkok or even Toronto, Canada, and is very affordable to live or holiday, and there is plenty to do here.
In Canada, I used to pay between $ 80 and $ 150 Canadian just for a routine cleaning. I had four teeth bonded and that put me in the thousands. When I need my bridge replaced the dentist gave me a price of $ 5,500 and told me it was a good price. Yeah, sure it was a good price, but for him and not me.
In Chiang Mai, I had the need to go to the dentist twice. The first visit was for a cleaning. My teeth were sensitive for a long time now and a good cleaning is required periodically. The cost of cleaning is $ 7 U.S.. No appointments. Just walking out and one hour later. No need to wait a week or several weeks for an appointment.
The second was held dental experience after eating chicken wings. The wings were tasty and I was hungry, and in my enthusiasm, I bit too hard and broke a veneer. This is the first time this has happened. Well, I had to repair and immediately. I sent an email from a local dentist, and he took me the next day. I went in, sat down, and 45 minutes job well done. It is more beautiful than ever. The cost is 700 baht or about $ 17 U.S.. I think it would have to withdraw $ 100 - $ 150 in Canada. The dentist that I visited a translator if necessary, even if his English is excellent, they provide transportation to and from the clinic if necessary, they post their prices on their site, and you can get a free massage feet while you wait. The dental clinic in case you're interested in has 9 bungalows behind their beautiful new dental clinic near the largest mall in the city. So you can sit there in significant savings in normal hotel rates. The bungalows are new, and each has a separate bedroom, satellite TV, mini fridge and a new mini-van and driver in their premises for their guests.
So if you need dental care that will cost you thousands in North America, I suggest you come here for vacation. Get dental work done and enjoy the city. Take in the waterfalls, hot springs, a zoo, Buddhist temples, and shopping deals on the famous Night Bazaar.
When you get home you can tell your friends that you just came back from a great holiday in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and the vacation was "free".
In my enthusiasm to get others to vacation here and retire here, I created a website:
http://www.retire-on-550-month.com
We offer advice on moving to Thailand, advice on living in Chiang Mai, hosting the short and long term, allowed vacation packages and more.
The bungalows that I have mentioned can be found on my website Accommodation page and are available for only $ 30 U.S. a night, $ 150/wk, $ 400 per month. If you want to stay longer than three months then we can think or do longer-term accommodations for even less.
Chiang Mai is often called "Rose of the North" as it is beautiful city and lots of flowers that adorn the city are grown locally. Thailand is often called "Land of Smiles" because the Thai.
