How long can a HCG blood test done before a period and be specific? My husband and I have been TTC for some time, I was tracking my ovulation. During a cycle, I had two peaks of LH, I'm not sure what that means. I have 8 days on my period and had an HCG blood test done today while I was at the dr, but it is negative. Am I too far to get a blood test is accurate?
I had one done with my last pregnancy and my HCG level was 11 when I was 11 days past ovulation (which was about 2-3 days before my period is due). If you have a typical phase of 14 days and your luteal period is not due for 8 days, which suggest you are only 5 days past ovulation. Implantation normally occurs 7-10 days past ovulation, so I think 5 days would be too early for a blood test to be +.
No you're not. Better luck next time
No, it's probably true. Most blood tests can pick up the hCG from 6dpo. I am awfully sorry Maybe next month will it be for you!
