Positive for HIV? Is it possible that in a relationship where the couple has one child HIV +, the husband may be negative and positive women
Yes.
There are many discordant couples where the husband could be HIV negative and positive woman.
I personally attended a couple of these couples in Uganda in Africa. Some of these couples had unprotected sex before discovering that one of them is HIV positive.
There is much research currently underway to investigate how some individuals in rare occations seem to be protected from contracting HIV. The study consists of taking blood samples from couples where one partner is HIV positive, but their partner is HIV-negative remained despite being exposed to the virus at some stage.
