Leucovorin Chemotherapy

Leucovorin ChemotherapyIs it the mustache fall in chemotherapy?

My father is taking chemo for colon cancer (5FU/leucovorin will be + / - oxyplatin Xeloda or-not sure we're due to see the oncologist tomorrow).
It is a bit worried about losing his mustache (not much hair on top to lose, you see + it was all his life).
Does anyone know if the facial hair does not move??
Thank you

In fact, many patients do not suffer significant hair loss with one of the patterns you listed.

5FU or Xeloda is not likely to cause hair loss much more important. Oxaliplatin does not add much risk, in a clinical trial, the risk of all grades of hair loss (from no effect to complete loss) was 30% for 5FU it was 28%. Most of these figures is thinning.

Mustache and eyebrows generally grow slower than the hair on the head so often do eyebrows mustache could look a little uneven, but can make it through unscathed.

Whatever happens, be alive without a mustache beats the alternative, right? It will grow back, anyway.

May God bless you, best wishes

His mustache is going to fall. We are not localized to the hair on the head, the hair on the whole body is lost, including facial hair, eyebrows and hair on the ends.

It depends on the chemo - different drugs affect different hair. people react differently. Assays make a difference. Some people lose the facial hair. Ask the oncologist.

It depends on the person, and the assay. Personally, I lost the lot from head to foot. He thought of not having particular facial hair, including the lack of eyebrows. But others do not lose hair at all despite the same dosage.
All hair eventually came back, but my head hair has never been the same. small price to pay to get rid of cancer.

I lost my hair on the head, eyebrows and eyelashes. But the best part is that I did not have to shave my legs or underarms for 4 months! I do not come back.

My eyebrows and eyelashes remained. If I lost a hair, it does not reject, but he did not fall on its own initiative.
I hope everything goes well for your father.
Best wishes
