Miscarriage Pregnancy Test

Ok, two weeks ago I had a miscarriage and when I went to the doctor they did not test and just said it looked like a miscarriage. And was asked to take a pregnancy test a week. I took my first night and he came again pregnant. Is this normal? How long does it take to get negative. Please help .. Thank you!

I think it takes about two weeks for a pregnancy test come up negative after a miscarriage.
