orthopedist??? So I went to the doctor today and I have a bad knee sprain, and I'm going to the doctor tomorrow orthopedist. What will happen when Im there?? I've never gone before and orthopedist. im on crutches at the moment with a bandage, it will stay or will he give something else. any info would be appriciated here. im new to this and im a bit panic.
Do not panic, they specialize in this field. The doctor will ask questions about what happened, and then make an assessment of your knee, which may include testing ROM, strength testing, and do special tests for the structure. According to the results, you may send for an MRI research in internal structure. They are safe and painless and does not take the time to everyone. Your doctor may recommend a brace or physical therapy or in the worst case surgery. You can also stay on your crutches with the bandage for a while. The result of your visit will be finally decided by what you have. Good luck with your appointment at the end you'll be back to your self working! Take care of this means a quicker recovery at the beginning.
I went to a doctor othapedic before and it was not bad, it will probably take x-rays and tell you what method of treatment is necessary to recover. Relax.
They will examine your knee. They may want more X-rays. They can order an MRI. It depends on your exam.
You may also get a better immobilizer instead of an elastic bandage.
I would not panic.
