Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Pediatric Occupational TherapistPediatric occupational therapist?

Is anyone a Pediatric Occupational Therapist? What is your job? What kind of children do you work? Is this the hard school? Please give me all the information you deem useful!

Hello, my cousin graduated from an occupational therapist about 5 years ago, and she specializes in pedatrics.

Let's start with education. You need a grasp of the course you undergradate work. Things like anatomy and physiology / biology will be important things for you to learn, because it deals with the human body. I am a student of pre-pharmacy, and I lot of my classmates are in occupational therapy. It is NOT exteremly difficult, but there will be many many weekend days and nights less, because you need to study a lot.
Therefore, you should ask a professional school that deals with occupational therapy, here you will learn the tricks you need to know in the field of work. The competition is very very very very very difficult, the average is an average 3.5 as best as voluntering in your profession can help you enter the school you want. Once again it takes time and dedication and many sleepless nights in grad school. But the reward will come soon.

Well, my aunt works mainly with children with disabilities who are born with birth defects or who are struggling with some type of screening for the disease that paralyzes its movements small. Since she works with children, she often comes to see me active the pleasure to discover their little movement works again. For example, this little boy has had problems with his finger hand coordination /. We have decided to make the arts and crafts with them and bake (food preparation such as cookies where u have to roll the dough, cut shapes), while at the same time excersing his hand coordination.

Remember to work with children is sometimes difficult, they listen! And that's not all work going to be fun. You must be a sick person who loves children to death. Occupational therapy is about 8 years of schooling, you have a long road ahead, but in the sense of accomplishment and helping children is the most amazing feeling.
