Pregnancy ResultsResults In late pregnancy caesarean More

With all the interest in questions of equality of women in recent years, women are more likely to choose to have careers and put off having a baby to adulthood. Morally, there is nothing wrong with that. Older women are equipped with a wealth of life experience and often a vision of life calmer. However, Mother Nature did not smile kindly upon women when it comes to the reproductive process, and we have some years where everything is easier and simpler to have a baby, from a point physically.

A pregnancy in later life is more difficult because women's fertility declines sharply after the age of thirty years. There is also the issue of baby with physical defects if born to a mother who progresses over the years. Of course, with the advent of IVF, it is not necessary for a woman to be sterile through physical imperfections and, in fact, many older mothers have made the news recently, and we see women in their fifties, sixties and beyond to give birth. But this raises ethical and moral as well as stretching beyond the limits of this article.

This is a known fact in the medical world is that the average age pregnancies that occur, the higher the rate of caesarean sections. The researchers found that four of ten mothers first cesarean could be avoided if births occurred in women who were in their twenties or thirties. This is because older women are less physically able to give birth naturally through tissue from the uterus more difficult to contract.

Caesarean sections are sometimes absolutely necessary for the health and well-being of mother and baby. Much has been made in the press that celebrities are "too posh to push", but nobody knows the physical constraints of these people who drive less natural childbirth. However, any cesarean section is safe for mother and baby and there are statistically more complications that may occur. It was also noted that the possibility of a mother dying during childbirth is five percent higher among those with cesarean sections.

The study shows that the increase has been achieved over a period of twenty five years and it was found that the average age of first time mothers increased substantially during this period. More worryingly, the amount of first time pregnancies for women aged over forty tenfold for those between 35 and 40, the increase was seven times. This means that during this period, 16, 548 caesarean sections were performed more than what would have been made had the statistics remained the same at the beginning of the study.

Now, this could be because more women are choosing career paths, it could be due to the greater availability of IVF treatment or it could simply be a trend that would have occurred without these factors coming into play

Caesarean sections account for 23 percent of all births is twice the limit recommended by the World Health Organization. In addition to these figures there are many mothers requiring births assisted by forceps or vacuum. All this adds stress medical intervention to the mother and baby, can lead to complications and took longer to recover from natural birth. This leaves less than half of all pregnancies resulting from a natural birth.

The World Health Organization recommends that the caesarean section is best left for emergencies only.
