Pro User Guide Macbook 1) The first step (a unpacking)
Take your MacBook Pro from the box and place it on a hard surface near an electrical outlet. In the box, you should also have
- 85W MagSafe power adapter power
- power cord
- DVI to VGA
(B) charge
Strip plastic adapter MagSafe 85W. Ensure the plug is well in the power adapter and place it in the socket. Take the other end of the power adapter lead and connect to port MagSafe magnetic power on the left side of your MacBook Pro.
If the power cord adapter does not stretch to your nearest electrical outlet, remove the plug from the adapter by pulling upward. Under the plug socket. Insert one end of the power cord into the outlet of the adapter and the other in the socket.
Please note: always unplug your MacBook Pro from the power by pulling the plugs and not the son.
An amber light on the MagSafe connector to the power port gives you the MacBook Pro is in charge of the battery. When a green light appears, the battery is fully charged. If no light appears, check the connections and make sure you have turned on the electrical outlet.

From left to right on the right side of your MacBook Pro
- a slot for a security cable lock
- USB 2.0
- one FireWire 400 port
- FireWire 800
- port Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000)
- DVI
Under your MacBook Pro is the battery. The battery has a row of lights and a button.
2) the initial configuration (an installation wizard)
Turn your MacBook Pro pressing the power button. Setup Wizard will come to the screen.
Setup Assistant guides you through the process of creating your user account and your e-mail and Internet details. If you have another Mac and you want to transport files and applications from your MacBook Pro, Setup Assistant show you how. If you want to transfer this information to a later date, use the Migration Assistant instead.
- Select the Applications folder
- Open Utilities
- Double-click Migration Assistant
