Seattle AmbulanceStraight Talk Law Report: The curious phenomenon Rubbernecking

Not only do we have all experienced, you can buy a lot of us did. I speak of course, rubbernecking. If you are driving on the highway and there are ambulances, police cars and fire trucks around a car accident, the first thing you want to do is take a look to see what 's increased. Unfortunately, this habit is a major problem in the U.S. that causes thousands of automobile accidents each year.

By definition, rubbernecking "describes the act of onlookers to something interesting." It happens all the time. You drive somewhere, usually on the highway, and you are moving at a snail's pace, advancing on the road. You know the reason for the delay is probably some kind of accident before us. After spending an hour on the road for a trip that usually takes ten minutes, you'd think everyone would be eager to get out of the ordinary and move along their path as quickly as possible. But no, like cars before we did, we all want to slow down, take our attention off the road and take a look for ourselves what was the cause of the delay frustrating . The real frustration comes when you have finished the back or you hit the car in front of you because you do not pay attention to the road.

The rubbernecking phenomenon is a major problem. As we already know, there are many distractions that we should avoid. This article discussed things we can do to prevent dangerous situations. When someone else is involved in an automobile accident hundred meters up the road from you, there's nothing you can do to prevent it. However, you can avoid further accidents occur by not rubbernecking. A 2005 study examined the types of distractions are most likely to cause accidents and found rubbernecking was the greatest danger, responsible for 16% of all distractions.

So what can we do about this problem? All human beings are just naturally curious, right? In Britain, they seem to have found a solution that will help them think. A plan has been designed to use security giant screens that will block the vision of drivers curious. These screens can be placed around an accident scene within minutes, and experts hope the screens to reduce congestion by ensuring that pilots continue at their normal pace because there is nothing to see, even if someone looks.

Of course, there are critics of this method. Some wonder if the additional staff required to assemble and to break these screens, and the space they occupy on the edge of the road congestion will be worse. In addition, if the drivers are just curious to slow down just to make sure someone with a flat tire, so how curious and intrigued by they will screen 20 feet high that extends 150 feet on Highway? If there was a clear solution to this worrying problem, so I'm sure we would have found so far.

As humans, we probably will not even stop being curious. But we must realize that rubbernecking is usually very dangerous and has the potential to cause an accident more serious than the original cause delays. Are large screens, blocking vision as those tested in Great Britain the answer? Maybe, maybe not. Whatever the case, the law Straight Talk once again ask you please car at any time without distraction to keep the roads safe for you and others around you.

Always remember, if you do happen to be involved in a car accident or motorcycle, where personal injury or wrongful death occurs, consult a lawyer immediately. You may not need a lawyer, but it is important to be sure before you accept anything with the insurance companies. You should consult an experienced lawyer, even before giving a recorded statement.
