Has anyone ever had a reaction to serious skin care sold on HSN? I had a reaction, including swelling when using all varieties of serious skin care vitamin C, glycolic etc. Has this happened to someone else. I told my derm. He said he could be the preservatives they use.
Hello
There are a number of ingredients in mass market skin care that can cause irritation, some of these chemicals have been developed for industrial use, propylene glycol adds body and smooth texture to products such as shampoo, but began his life as industrial antifreeze, sodium lauryl sulfate is a foaming agent which began as, and is still used as a degreaser engine. Other chemicals that can cause problems include parabens, petrochemicals, artificial colors and preservatives. Unfortunately, these are very common in products of skin care.
So I suggest you replace your current products skin care with those who are more natural. Find products:
aec are certified organic
aec have some natural products in their list of ingredients
aec contain do not contain petrochemicals, parabens or sulfates.
aec use natural preservatives like tea tree oil, or a combination of various essential oils that have antimicrobial activity (eg lavender, lemon, rose, rosemary, sage, sandalwood) extract grape seed or honey.
Avoid products that:
aec The word "organic" or "natural" in their brand name, but do not have organic certification.
aec have lots of chemical sounding names in the list of ingredients
I hope this helps
Cheers Sonya
