Vision Correction

Vision CorrectionHow accurate after LASIK vision correction over glasses / contacts?

I just started thinking about the possibility of LASIK. They told me that i need "moderate vision correction. My eyes are identical with spheres and cylinders of 3.50 -1.00. How does LASIK compared with glasses / contact to get the best view? Is it more accurate? Much less? On the same? I am interested in any information at all. Thank you!

I hope this information can be useful for you.

The goal of LASIK in terms of quality of vision is to get your corrected vision to 20/20 without needing glasses / contacts. It is sometimes possible to correct various aberrations of the eye (the structural problems that cause distortions in the images) during surgery and sometimes they can correct vision better than 20/20 (20/15, but not better than 20/10), but don 't necessarily "typical".

Simply put, if your glasses / contacts do you have corrected to 20/20 (most likely the case), your vision is not better than this after LASIK. You just do not have to wear glasses / contacts .... That is the only difference. And as noted in a previous post, there are side effects such as halos of LASIK, etc. that the patient may not have known before surgery with their glasses / contacts. It is also possible for your vision to change slightly after surgery (not due to surgery, but simply due to changes in your body due to aging, etc.) and you'll still need to wear glasses / contacts to correct your vision 20/20.

It depends on your visual acuity with glasses, lasik can usually just take off your glasses, but in most cases improves LASIK VA better than glasses. in your case (-3.5 DS / -1 DC) lasik will all benefit to you, but you have to do the deal as a good thing lasik (allegreto, Nidek) and the best modern method and reduce the fold using (femtosecond laser) is safer to the blades and giving you a clear vision post op.

LASIK ruined my life. I had surgery on "laser impact" in Mexico in September 2008, now suffer from dry eye syndrome, eye pain I can not read a book, use the PC is a martyr and suffer horrible symptoms dramatically.

I lost my college because of it.
I tried to continue the clinic, but to take refuge with a blade that made me sign before the surgery, eyes closed.
My greatest dream is that there is a cure and reading a book.

Artificial drops as Systane not the problem, either punctal plugs, Restasis far.

PS: Sorry for the bad translation. I'm Mexican

I have two friends who have had LASIK surgery and they say they now have perfect vision.

However, you should consult professionals. I know someone older who underwent LASIK surgery who did not like the final results.

Always get a second opinion before resorting to LASIK. It has many side effects, including scarring in your eyes. This could cause problems later in your life.
